CanoeKids Summer Camp

Paddle with us this summer!

Flatwater North offers week-long summer day camps focusing on skills development to introduce the sport of paddling. Our Canoe Kids summer camps are a great way to introduce kids (ages 7-13) to sprint canoe and kayak paddling in a fun and safe environment. Campers will explore Schwatka Lake using recreational canoes, sprint kayaks, high kneel canoes, stand up paddle boards and even a dragon boat.

Each of our weekly camps run Monday through Friday 9:00am-3:30pm and are taught by our Certified Canoe Kids coaches. Along with their peers, campers will have a great time challenging their own abilities while developing self-confidence and team-work skills. The daily paddling activities are balanced with dry-land games and trips to various spots on the lake.  The camps are a great way for kids to meet other kids in the community and most of all…have fun being outside and paddling!

At the end of the week, parents are invited to participate in an afternoon paddling session so the kids can proudly show you what they have learned.  Everyone is invited for a BBQ at which each paddler will receive a report card and a Canoe Kids certificate of achievement. To ensure safety and reinforce safe paddling practices, all participants are required to wear life-jackets or PFDs, which are provided, any time they are on the water or the dock.No experience is needed and participants work at their own pace to develop paddling skills. Drop off time is 8:30am and pick up time is 4:00pm. *If you need extra time for pick up and drop off, please contact our program coordinator by email at [email protected].*

Registration in each session is limited so sign up early!
  •  $330 for single week registration for 5 days
  • $270 on holiday weeks with 4 days
  • $200 on holiday weeks with 3 days
