High Performance Training

Our High Performance dry-land training program is for athletes ages 14+ looking to train and compete at a territorial/provincial and national level. This is for anyone looking to improve their physical and mental literacy for the purpose to compete and train across at a high level. As such expectations are higher for this program. If you want to learn life long kills and see the world through achieving your athletic goals, this is the program for you!

Canada Summer Games Info

Participants MUST sign up for programs.
REGISTER
  • Born on or after January 1, 2000 (to be under 21 as of Dec 31, 2025).
  • Yukon resident since May 1, 2025.
  • Registered member of a Flatwater Paddling Yukon affiliate club.
  • In good standing with FPY and their club.
  • Maintain training requirements (min. 3 practices/30 km per week, increasing to 5 practices/50 km in summer).
  • Attend Canada Day Regatta, Canada Cup West, and Divisionals unless excused.
Selection Process:
  • Performance-based trials in March–July 2025
  • Top 4 in each kayak category automatically qualify
  • Top 2 canoeists (left & right) selected for C4 balance
  • Final spots awarded based on time standards and performance
Time Standards (500m/1000m combined):
  • Men’s Kayak: 6:30 | Women’s Kayak: 7:00
  • Men’s Canoe: 7:10 | Women’s Canoe: 8:10
